YUNGBLUD has announced the second half of his ambitious IDOLS project, due out digitally on February 20th 2026, only two days after the original announcement.
IDOLS Part II will include six new tracks, as well as adding in his collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins on the GRAMMY-nominated Zombie. The record will be available in physical format in May, both as a standalone edition and a complete bundle.
“Part 1 was a journey that helped me reclaim my identity from the darkest position I’ve ever been in my life. Part 2 is about realising that I am alive, that I am real, that this journey that I’ve been on didn’t kill me,” explains Dominic Harrison, YUNGBLUD.
The first half of IDOLS was YUNGBLUD’s fourth #1 Album in the UK and his second of last year, after teaming up with Aerosmith to release the One More Time EP. These accomplishments have come thick and fast, following his momentous rendition of Changes at the ‘Back To The Beginning’ show, paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
It’s no secret that YUNGBLUD has had a very successful year globally - but IDOLS Part II will be the true test of whether he has pulled off the project he set out to do.
There is always a risk when releasing double albums. Many artists have tried and failed over the years. On both parts, the tracks have to hold up individually and as a collective body of work. Otherwise, the project can appear self-indulgent or split for fan consumption over an artistic statement.
IDOLS Part II is already coming in with four fewer tracks (if you remove the inclusion of the Zombie Reprise) and a dramatic step-down in marketing and promotion. While this could be intentional, it gives the impression that the second half may be much weaker and there was little motivation for investment in a second campaign with a unique aesthetic.
It can also be noted that Part I has been removed online in physical format, now only giving fans the option to buy Part II or own the Complete Collection. This, cynically, feels like a sales-tactic or a way to preserve the longevity of the overall project.
Tracklist:
I Need You (To Make The World Seem Fine)*

Time will tell - has YUNGBLUD pulled off a two-part concept album, or has the hype and marketing done more of the talking than the music itself? We’ll see on 20th February.
