Weekly Roundup #81

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. What are you spinning?

Big Fleece - Blue Deputy

Hailing from Belfast, Blue Deputy is an indie/bedroom pop band. Big Fleece is their first single from an upcoming EP on the horizon. It’s an instant earworm, blending their pop allegiances and dreamy vocals with an emo undertone. Their sound is timeless and vulnerable - well worth a listen.

midnight music - Ada Lea

Midnight Magic is the shimmering and dreamlike new single from Ada Lea to support the upcoming new album when i paint my masterpiece out August 8th via Saddle Creek. Catch the dreamy video for the single here.

Lazy Magician - Keaton Henson

Henson has returned with a new single, Lazy Magician. The new material hints at the musician beginning to shed the ‘quiet boy’ persona that has defined much of his career. When speaking to the press, he explained: “Julia’s voice is so evocative of that sound to me, it reminds me of when I first heard Rilo Kiley. She has a lot of the suburban magic-realism of the American bands I loved back then."

Days - Tuxis Giant

Another new one from Tuxis Giant! Days is a reflective track that’s become a quiet favourite in their live set. Written during the pandemic, it explores how routine and work, while sometimes draining, can also be grounding. It feels very honest and vulnerable, and well worth a listen. You Won’t Remember This is out August 15th via Worry Bead Records.

You - Fluoxetine

Described as ‘dark but uplifting’, You is the latest track from the new indie band Fluoxetine—the band named after an antidepressant. There’s a strong influence from Radiohead both vocally and in the guitars behind the music. The Lichfield quartet may be ones to keep an eye on.
