Weekly Roundup #69

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. What are you spinning?

Burn - Basht.

Basht’s long-awaited sophomore EP has arrived, Bitter And Twisted. Building on their emotionally charged debut, one of the best of 2024, this new effort is oozing with maturity and more complex themes, marking their first with LAB Records. One of the lead singles Burn is a gleaming example of the Dublin quartet’s darker and more gritty direction.

Heads Above Water - King Husky

What lies between the lines as conversations get weird? King Hüsky seeks the answer in a glistening, college rock dopamine hit. Heads Above Water is a joyful listen from an underrated artist in the underground scene at the moment. The single is from their debut album, released today.

You And Me - RATS

RATS have finally released their long-awaited debut album, bursting with 13 tracks. One of our favourites is the funky You And Me from Liverpool’s finest. With echoes of Gorillaz and Jamie T, RATS’ real-life lyrics meet an innovative hip-hop, ska and indie blend.

Metal - The Beths

Metal is the first taste of new music from the New Zealand quartet The Beths since the release of 2023’s Expert In A Dying Field (Deluxe), the expanded version of their beloved 2022 album. It’s a beautiful track, with elements of jangly-pop and glistening indie vocals from Elizabeth Stokes.

These Nights - Lonely Astronauts

The rising indie rock band from Belfast have just dropped Lonely Astronauts. Recorded in Manor Park Studio with Neal Calderwood, the track finds the band diving deeper into their melodic rock roots, weaving emotional resonance, uplifting riffs, and raw, heartfelt vocals. It’s one not to miss.
